Weekend Recap

Wooflball

So I guess I kinda disappeared this past week from bloggy land but I just wanted to share what my crazy schedule was this week.
Monday: My Monday excuse is that my camera was left at church and by the time my dad got home from work with his camera I was hiding in the closet from tornadoes:)
Tuesday:I had school in the morning, practice in the afternoon, still no camera aaannnddd my outfit wasn't that cute anyways:)
Wednesday: I was working at my grandpa's office all day and I was still without a camera.
Thursday: I was at the Old State House till lunch and then I was doing school at my dad office and then I was wearing sweatpants and a Puma jacket so you most likely don't want to see that:)
Friday: ditto the morning but that night, we had a cookout for my sister's birthday.
Today: I have been at the Old State House all day doing living history. It was so much fun, I got to wear a poofy dress, card wool, eat some really good food, and meet some great people!

Well hopefully you didn't get too bored with this post:)

Anthro Inspired Necklace (how original)

My aunt said it looked just like an Anthro necklace so I just went and found a bib necklace to show from Anthro:) original

REALLY quick post to let you know I still exist:) I made this necklace while I was sick a couple weeks ago. What I did is I took a t-shirt that I am making bracelets out of and used the neck as a pattern to get the shape that I wanted IF that makes any sense. Then I cut strips and made rolled roses and sewed them to the bib. I had the pink roses already made and sewed them on there to create some contrast. I had a pearl necklace that I had cut up to make a bracelet and the bracelet broke so I used the pearls for this as well. The leaves are a scrap of lace that was sitting by my bed when I was sick and I thought it might be cute to cute leaf shapes out of them and it turned out very nice! For the chain I had a necklace that was always falling apart from $1 Jewlrey Galore (hhmm maybe I should start shopping at nicer places for my jewelery:) so I took the bottom off the necklace and used the chain. So there's my original post:)

Friday Friday!

Yeah these pictures don't really show my outfit that well but that's okay because it wasn't super cute or anything. We went to an the art museum in downtown Little Rock for  an impressionist display. We got to see Monets, Van Goughs, and Degas! I love Degas ballerina pictures so much! After the art museum and a rehearsal for the civil war event next weekend we had to go to the grocery store and I was reading the new InStyle, there was a really cute diy project and you can find the blogger who does them HERE she has some really cute stuff and it looks JUST like her inspiration pieces! Well I am trying to find these adorable wood pallet crafts for my mom on some blog that I just saw but now I can't remember WHERE I saw them at so I'm getting irritated!

Just a quick post to let you know I am in love with super long braids! Look at these amazing super long braids. This is what I am doing to my hair, letting it grow really long and then keeping it braided 24/7...okay maybe like 24/4 or 24/3 somewhere around there!

Oh and my cousin told me I needed to do a giveaway but I don't know whether to do one at 50 followers or 100 followers, what do you guys think? AND my grandpa needs me to do some work at his office for him so THAT solves the current unemployment crisis for Haley. Well I'm going to get my daddy to show me how to use Google Reader so bye for now!

Where did all those kids come from?

Shorts:Handmedown Tank:Charlotte Russe Cardi:Thrifted Scarf:Gifted Belt:Gifted

She loves being on my blog:)

Some pretty flowers by where we were taking pictures

So we were running errands and we stopped at the storage unit place by our house and there was this cool looking arborish thing next door so Abigail and I jumped out to take some outfit pictures. Well we got back in the car and my mom was said the guy in there was like "Where did all those kids  come from?" My mom reassured him that the two kids not standing on his property belonged to her. Tomorrow I am going to a play some of my friends are in so you should have cuter outfit tomorrow. It's supposed to be coldish so hopefully I can find a cute outfit to wear with my new leather jacket. Thats about all I can think of to write.

What IS in my purse...and my first FBFF post (on Thursday)

So I have some amazing news, if any of you read that comment from our couch yesterday (via my daddy) I am going to explain it to you. I found my camera. Under a couch cushion. Yes I am serious. I was moaning about my lost camera and all of a sudden my mom said "did you look under the couch cushion?" and I was like "psh no why would it be there?" But I looked anyways and under the last cushion guess what I found...MY CAMERA!!!!!!!!!!
Anywho, I didn't feel like taking pictures right now and I had taken a picture of all the crap in my purse when I traded back with my little sister so here is what was in my purse:

In My Strada purse:
  • Some cream for this rash I get on my knees
  • Vera Bradley coin purse
  • Duct tape wallet
  • Two pens
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Three pairs of earrings
  • Two french pedi sets (blue and trad)
  • Lip gloss
  • Disney World ticket
  • Kindle 2
  • AND two pendants I had made at a party

So that's all the stuff I keep in my purse. I recently joined Fashion Beauty Friend Friday and here is my first post so I don't forget

1. When it comes to be personally – I owe a lot of who I am to: My friends and family, 'nouf said

2. When it comes to be professionally – I owe a lot of who I am to: My mom, she helps me with all my work stuff

3. When it comes to the art of blogging, I’m grateful to these people: Elaine from Clothed Much and Ramsey from Love, Ramsey, they were my inspiration for starting fashion blogging. Also my readers, they are so encouraging!
4. One blogging challenge I’m grateful happened because it made me

stronger was… Not having a ton of readers at first, I think it helped me be more motivated to click that little follow button and comment because if others hadn't done so for me, I may not be where I am right now.

5. To my readers, I’d like to say… I think all I can say is THANK YOU!!!

Sailorish????

You know I'm not quite sure what to call this outfit, I mean sailor stripes+plus peach Jackie O' sweater+sequined scarf  what in the world. In other news there really is no other news, there is a Paris in the Spring cousins tea party Friday, not quite sure how to dress, maybe I'll wear my new granny skirt I want to wear as a dress. Has anyone else seen the new Delia's catalogue? IN LOVE with the vintage floral dresses! Oh yeah, sorry about all these bad pictures you are going to be getting, I really need my camera back! Tell her I miss her if you happen to see her!

Go away and...come back as an adorable scarf!

So we went to Target the other day and you should know by now that I LOVE scarves and I really love the floral fabrics that are coming out now. Paying $12 for a scarf is totally out of the question for me so I decided to make my own. We went to Goodwill Clearance and I picked up a few granny skirts to refashion and this was the one I wanted to use for a scarf.

Isn't the fabric gorgeous!

This is the finished result. I just cut the skirt into four long strips, sewed them together, basted it, and then sewed over it so I would have a ruffled appearance. I really like how it turned out!

By the way, there is an amazing giveaway HERE
